Welcome to Assington's Neighbourhood Plan Page.
In 2018, in response to local demand, the Parish Council begun to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan. The Government encourages parish councils to produce their own Neighbourhood Plans enabling local people to have a say in how their neighbourhood grows and develops.

The Neighbourhood Plan Team
We have a team of 7 - chaired by Parish Councillor Helen Wallace – and many more helping us out when they can. We’re a range of ages and come from all over the village. The team is working on behalf of the Parish Council and it’s important that the plan reflects everyone’s views in the village, so please get in touch with any thoughts or ideas you have! Our email is AssingtonNP@outlook.com.
Below you can find all the agendas and minutes from the team's meetings to date. Remember, if you'd like to talk to the team or even join us, we'd love to hear from you by email, Facebook or Twitter! Or there is always the old fashioned way of just having a chat - there is usually at least one of us in the pub on a Friday!

In April 2019 we held our third consultation event, with around 70 people from the village attending, giving us their views and opinions and offering some fantastic feedback. We also presented the results from the household questionnaire, which prompted useful further discussion. Anyone who was unable to attend the event can view the consultation boards here:
In early October 2019 we held our fourth consultation event, with more than 50 people from the village attending and taking time to fill in feedback forms which we will use in the next stages of drafting the plan. We also presented the results from the AECOM independent character and sites assessment reports. Anyone who was unable to attend the event can view the consultation boards here:
